About

free·lancer n.
1. A person who sells services to employers without a long-term commitment to any of them.
fri·dee n.
1. A fun way to say “Friday” - the sixth day of the week.
Freelancer Fridee is an informal gathering on the third Friday of every month at a different venue in and around the wonderful city of Melbourne, Australia.
The idea behind Freelancer Fridee is to provide a social and networking opportunity for people who are freelancers, self-employed or part of a small business operation. As we don’t have access to the same human and intellectual resources as those who work in large office environments, we thought we should get together once a month and compare notes. Oh, and have after work Fridee drinks with some colleagues and like minded souls.
Freelancer Fridee is also designed to encourage hard working individuals to down tools once in a while, turn off the laptop and step away from work. Hence, Freelancer Fridee kicks off at 4pm for those who can make it. When working for yourself or in a small team one can become quite insular and isolated. Occasionally one should reconnect with the world at large and practice one’s people skills. On real people.
Freelancer Fridee welcomes all freelancers, self-employed individuals or small business teams to join in the celebrations, conversations and pontification on the third Fridee of every month. Keep your eyes on the Freelancer Fridee website for each events details and read The Wrap to get the low down on past gatherings.
Freelancer Fridee is not an exclusive club and welcomes friends of freelancers also.
Cheers!
